Veterinarians
Dr. Jeff Rhody is our primary veterinarian and owner. When Dr. Rhody is not here, we often have another veterinarian on-site to help our patients.
Dr. Jeffrey L. Rhody originally hails from Baltimore. After graduating from Milford Mill Senior High School and the University of Maryland (College Park), he received his DVM (cum laude) in 1983. Since 1988, he has practiced exclusively at the Lakeside Veterinary Center.
Jeff has a love of all kinds of animals. His case load is about 80% dogs and cats. The remaining 20% consists of ferrets, rabbits, reptiles, amphibians, birds, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and rodents. He has also had the opportunity to work with some invertebrates (large spiders) and non-domestic cats. When asked which is his favorite patient, his answer is, "The next one I see."
Dr. Rhody lives in Clarksville with his wife and two sons. Their house is full of pets, including 2 labs,2 cats, a hamster, and fish. In his spare time, Jeff volunteers at his sons' schools, plays golf and works with wood in his home workshop.
Dr. Laura Martin works at the Lakeside Veterinary Center on a part-time basis. She is here every other Friday evening and every other Saturday. Laura is also an owner of the Prime Care Animal Hospital in Gambrills. An excellent clinician, she does restrict her patients to dogs and cats, although she will see the occasional ferret, rabbit or pocket pet.
Laura lives by the water and loves to sail in her free time.
Dr. Tracy Duvernoy is frequently here on a relief basis. This means when Dr. Rhody is out of town, Tracy often fills in. Dr. Duvernoy recently left full-time practice to obtain her Masters of Public Health degree and is now a valued employee of the USDA. Because of her love of animals, good humor and great skills, she is also a valued asset for the Lakeside Veterinary Center.
