Dr. Christy Shoup Dr. Shoup received her Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College in 1996 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University in 2001. She completed an internship at SouthPaws Veterinary Referral Center in Fairfax, Virginia in 2002. She helped to open the Emergency Animal Hospital in Ellicott City before moving to private practice in late 2003. Dr. Shoup is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association, the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association, and the Greater Baltimore Veterinary Medical Association. She volunteers with Fidos for Freedom (a therapy and service dog organization) and with parrot rescue. Dr. Shoup resides in Laurel with her Dalmatian puppy, Saoirse; her cat, ZB; and four parrots, Mango, Grendel, Adam and Beaker. Her veterinary interests are in geriatric care, pain control, avian behavior and puppy training. |
