Lakeside Veterinary Center, LLC
About Us Since opening the Lakeside Veterinary Center in 1988, Dr Rhody has emphasized quality hands-on care rather than a large case load. Every client is treated with respect for their time and for their emotional bond with their pet. Every patient is treated with dignity and a gentle approach to their medical needs. Our veterinary practice reflects the value that animals and people are intertwined. To that end the Lakeside Veterinary Center will always strive to provide the best veterinary care possible for your pet, while always keeping in mind that your pet is a family member.

Practice Philosophy Dr. Rhody practices what is best termed diagnosis-based medicine. This means he tries to form a diagnosis prior to treating an illness. For example, a dog that is vomiting could have as many as 100 things wrong- from virus to a tumor. The answer you provide to our questions combined with the findings on the physical examination will narrow that list and help us guide you to the next step. Blood work may be indicated to check liver and kidney function or a blood count. An x-ray or ultrasound may be the best next step. Of course, we will recommend the best course of action and explain the costs involved. Although no one wants their budget to dictate what course of tests or treatment their pet will receive, the fact is that laboratory tests and other tests can be expensive. If you are unable to follow the ideal medical or surgical pathway, we will work with you to find an acceptable plan and path to take. No matter what path we follow, the medical care of your pet is a team effort: our advice and care are guided by your input and ability to care for your pet's illness at home. Together, we will work toward the best result possible. |
